The tale of 2 boilers...

The old boiler.

They had to break up  the huge cast iron water reservoir.  I was able to save the end panel with the name plate on it (see first photo).

This spot looks so bare with that huge monster removed.  The cute new boiler was brought in and 5 hours later was completely installed.

Wow, in comparison the new boiler is just soooo tiny. Great to know that it will be able to do the same job as the first one. Nice to know that you were able to save the plate too!

I am guessing the new one will be more energy efficient.
But it just doesn't have the same "presence" as the old one.

Yay! It's done with a memento to boot!

What a difference! ...Gene's comment made me laugh.

What are you going to do with that new found space ? More shelving for material? Your new boiler looks lost . Isn't is amazing they can make something that small to do the work of a dinosaur ?
You had it done just in time for this cold snap.

You might need it to work this morning. It is about 32*F here. Suppose to be cool next week also. Chris

Wow...what a difference. The new one is even "pretty"! It's like getting excited over a new washing machine or dishwasher. Never would have dreamed it would be so much fun to get new ones!! Aren't we nuts?

Anyway, come on over to my blog when you get a chance. I'm having a giveaway that I think you might want to join.

Yeah! Glad you were able to safe the face plate! Happy Easter.

I assume that a boiler is the same thing as a hot water heater? And I like that the new one is the exuberant color of blue leaving more room for shelves. Congrats.

Another project completed. Yay! Now on to more important things. Like playing with fabric.

I think the old one looks like a fine piece of American iron.
