A little winter.....

This is what we woke up to yesterday morning.  It was a heavy wet snow so it piled up on everything.  The little juncos come to my forsythia bush for shelter between bites at the feeder.
The snow melted off the areas where it was plowed or shoveled but there is still some on the grass. Today is supposed to be in the 20s and then in the 40s tomorrow.  What a strange winter we are having.

On the quilting front, I quilted 6 more blocks of the quilt I showed 2 days ago, 4 blocks to go.

The snow looks just like ours yesterday morning. This morning, however, we can't even see out the windows. We are in the midst of a blizzard and are expecting 30cm more.

we had just about 80 degrees on Thursday and about 50 on Friday - now we are back to a 10 day forecast of high 50's to low 60's -- we basically have only had winter one day a week or so. Very strange winter indeed. The snow is pretty and at least you know it won't last long!

I love the photos of your beautiful snow. Clever little bird finding a little shelter.

It has been one strange winter - everywhere.

Strange winter here too. Been thawing most days, then cooled off and we have had nearly a foot of snow - in sunny Alberta, with no sun today!

Love the lil Junko in the bush. That photo went right into 'my photo's'.

Our mountains really got slammed with snow, but only rain here in the valley.

We have had a big dump of snow the last 48 hours - probably more than we have had the whole winter or at least the piles that are stacked where people have shovelled seem higher than they have been for awhile. We thought winter forgot about us here- we sure got fooled..
It is not so bad- we have had a very pleasant time this winter so we have been pretty lucky.
Happy quilting,
Regards,
Anna

Friday it was 75 outside when we took the dogs out. While one the way back into the house, a hugh gust of wind came and with it a 20 degree drop in temp. I have never felt that before. Eric was sure we were going to have a tornado but nothing happened but COLD.

Great picture of our snow. My suet feeder has disappeared. It is probably in some squirrels nest up in a tree. The second one I bought the suet was gone within a short time so I am sure it is the squirrels getting into it. Today spring will be coming back.
