Binding..........

I mostly did cleaning yesterday but I sat down several times and did a little hand stitching on this binding.  Even though the binding looks like blue, it is the new purple coloration of this classic Kaffe print.  I figured out the way to get purple to show properly and that is putting something gray in the shot for the camera to read.  I remembered that after I had taken this and loaded it in my computer.  Next time......

Now that's a great photography tip! And the quilt looks great!

When I took a class w/Kaffe, we were to bring a portable design wall, aka fabric. He suggested either gray or a brown, what he referred to as a mushroom color for this. White is too stark. Just so you know, the binding (on an enlarged pic) on my monitor does look purple! :)

Yup, looks purple to me -- yummy, luscious, delish purple. Great quilt! (Which reminds me, I have some binding to attach by hand -- yuk. Usually, I machine stitch them on.) Happy New Year!

Thanks for the hint. I never knew that!

Your bindings always bring out the wonderful colors in your creations. Who knew gray would bring out the purple in a print ? Not me... Thanks again.

51 degrees here in the valley when we woke up this morning. January thaw for sure.

Thanks for the photography hint. Purple has always been a problem in my pictures. Now the trick will be to remember this hint the next time I'm photographing a purple creation!

Very clever to do the binding in stages instead of all in one sitting. Especially if it is not your favorite thing to do.

Interesting tip about purple and gray. I wonder why that works that way?

Oh, I love purple. Purple is the way to go. You are zipping right along with your projects this year. Me, too. I hope we can both keep up the pace.
