2 gold rings..........

The rings arrived in the mail yesterday from one of my readers and I finished the pillow.  I looked up ring bearer pillows on the internet to see how to put the ribbons on and only found 2 with ruffles.  All of the rest were just square and a lot had wide ribbon or contrasting fabric  wrapped around them.  Maybe I should have looked them up before I started on this.  I made this one from the bride's mother's dress so I wanted to use the ruffle from the skirt.  I hope they are happy with it.
I haven't had as many birds this year as previous years and I think this might be why.  I saw something big swoop across the back yard and then it landed in the tree.  The hawk had his back to me for quite awhile.
I was in the other room for about 15 minutes and when I came back into the kitchen he had turned around and faced me.  He was watching the Junkos cleaning up the seed that the squirrels spill.  I don't know how long he was there altogether but he didn't seem to be in a hurry for a meal, or he was waiting for some bigger birds.

I spent most of the day yesterday cleaning out the guest room closet and moving summer clothes to a storage spot.  When the guy came to put the pump on my heating system and I had to move everything in front of the little trapdoors, a lot of the stuff went in that closet.  Today I need to vacuum the house since I'll have company staying with me for 3 days later this week.

Th hawks do have a tendency to scare off birds. We had a Falcon show up in our yard last year. Needless to say we didn't have many birds left after it was here. Chris

The pillow turned out beautiful! I am sure they will love it! Nice hawk! You will have to watch for it circling in the sky looking for its next meal. The hawks my brother has at his house scream and they are loud.

I'm sure they'll appreciate the antique bits you've added form the mom's dress. It's pretty.
It's quite amazing to see a hawk up close like that. Too bad it's at the expense of your other birds.
company coming is always a good incentive to get cleaning!

pretty pillow! I love the hawk too - I never have any close enough to the house to see but do see them when I drive - they will be in the trees by the road.
Have fun with your company.

That ring-bearer's pillow is absolutely wonderful! What a great keepsake for them -- and I think the ruffle is fabulous!

I think the bride will be very happy with the gorgeous little ring bear pillow. I love the ruffle on it.
Great photos of the Hawk.

The pillow looks gorgeous.

I can see why there have been no birds. Our large resident falcon swept down under my feeder yesterday and you should have heard the chaos as the birds scattered.

My mother had a florist for years and did a LOT of weddings. Had to help her in the evening and weekends. Sooooo I've seen a LOT of ring pillows. There are lots of ring pillow designs out there. Lace, no lace... Must say, your pillow is one of the nicest I have ever seen! Lovely job! It's beautiful.
NO. I don't miss working on wedding flowers.

I am sure the bride will treasure the ring bearers pillow, and hopefully saved to be handed down for years to come. You created a timeless beautiful pillow.

OH yeah hawks always seem be scouting out near a feeder. I like hawks but not the ones that go for my lil song birds.

Another day of temps in the 50's ! And I am enjoying every minute of it. (*._,*)

I made mine without ruffles and people asked why it didn't have ruffles. I answered because the ring bearer helped design it(I worked with a 5 year old), my daughter let him pick. Some brides want ruffles, some don't. In this case there was a compelling reason and it turned out beautifully, so all is well.

The pillow is perfect, Wanda, just perfect. Using lace from the mother's dress makes it a true keepsake.
Enjoy the upcoming wedding festivities, and hopefully you'll have some time for relaxation, soaking in the joy of event.

The pillow is very pretty. Perfect.
I have a Cooper Hawk too. Usually when they are around the birds sense them and scatter. However, I have planted cover bushes for the little birds and I think that helps.
