Small projects...........

I needed some instant gratification projects after all of the big quilts I have been working on.  I finished 3 journal covers.

I stitched a few horizontal lines with gold metallic thread on this one.  Next I'm going to make some mug rugs.  Everybody is making them but if you don't know what they are, do a search and you will find all kinds of tutorials and photos.  I found that there isn't any standard size for them. I should be able to use more of my batting scraps for them, the scraps too small for the Swifter.

Sometimes a good small project is just what we need. I love the journal covers and can't wait to see you mug rugs. They are fun and quick, another great instant gratification project!

Mug rugs go quickly, I made a few of them last year but haven't this year. I tend not to do much sewing items for Xmas.

I also am ready to do some small projects...not necessarily for gift giving at Christmas, but to restock my gift stash for the coming year. The journal covers are really pretty.

It is fun to do a small project. I'm doing a little snowman hanging as a last minute gift.
The journals are pretty. I never tire of batiks.

the covers are beautiful! nothing like a little 'instant' gratification to perk up the sewing sometimes.

Beautiful covers as usual! And you're right, I've noticed there's no standard size for the mug rugs, it depends on how and where you want to use them. I haven't made any since last Christmas but I still love em!

Today's secret word is "shast" - as in "I wouldn't have gone but shast me three times!"

Does anyone else like playing with the "secret" words?

Love your journal covers. I been working with batiks lately too which I always enjoy. I'm looking forward to seeing your mug rugs. I have yet to get around to making one, but god knows I have enough scraps lying around of both batting and fabric that I could probably make a 100 and not make a dent lol.

Hello, I don't often comment, but I am still peeking at your lovely work...not been able to sew much stuff myself of late, so I take vicarious pleasure in your productivity and generosity.
Have a lovely advent and beautiful Christmas.
best wishes!

Those are all so pretty! I like to make the mug rugs, too. It's a good way to use some scraps of fabric and batting.

I did go and get a Swiffer and I LOVE how the leftover batting works on the dust and thread bunnies in my studio!!!

Have fun with the mug rugs . . .

Love your colors in them. It's so nice to get a break from a large project and work on something quick.
