Blocks sewn together....waiting for border choices...

I finished the baking, cleaning and then sewed the blocks together into a top.  I will add 2 borders.  Our school colors are orange and black so I have seen this combination for 52 years living in this town.  This is a soft orange and quite pretty.  The diagonal layout is automatic if you place the 3 center squares in the same sequence (small-medium-large) and repeat it.  Then the next row the small is moved one spot to the right (offset by one block) and it will automatically create a diagonal layout.  My secondary pattern is the black and white alternating so I had to have 7 black and 7 white for each size center square.  Did I ever mention I love math?

Wonderful! I really like the use of the orange with the black and white.

I didn't notice small-medium-large until you mentioned it. now my eye seeks it out. and the orange is the luscious color of those candy orange segments. the interacting patterns of this quilt are mesmerizing, so satisfying. I guess I love math too! and I.love.this.quilt. I didn't expect to, but I do!

What a gorgeous warm-looking quilt that is! The orange centres positively radiate warmth!

That is SO pretty! What are you going to use for backing? More flannel? That will be a warm quilt. I think I'm going to do some more fleece backings on a couple I'm making. Hope it goes better this time.

I wish I could be half as productive as you!

Amazing how colorful a quilt can look with such a limited palette. What a beautiful graphic piece. Very modern! I'd like to see it in a room with modern design furniture and something antique, like: an oak dining table and black ant chairs around it on a white rug. Or so.
