Last warm day...

We have had some beautiful weather for a few days and it is ending now with a cold front.  We had a couple little showers and then a lot of rain last night.  This is my viburnum bush which is just outside my kitchen window.  Two branches of leaves have turned color and the rest are still green.
I helped a friend baste a quilt on my empty tables in the basement yesterday morning and then worked on some pillowcases for my church project.  The rest of the day I just petted fabric and dreamed of new quilts.  Today I will sew the 16 patch blocks into strips to add to the checkerboard quilt.

Temps are only to get two degrees higher than what they are right now. Petting fabric. sounds like fun. Chris

Our weather is turning cold this week--snow flurries forecast. Love the 16 patch quilt.

This season seems weird to me. We have trees that are bare already, probably due to recent winds. Trees that are beautiful fall shades and so many that are still green. Finally the squirrels are gathering nuts. I remember many years that our first snow was in the first week of November. I can sure wait for THAT!

mmmm. petting fabric and dreaming of new projects fun and safe. We had a gorgeous day yesterday and now it's back to chilly and rainy, which is still better than cold and snowy.

Sounds like you had a good day. Dreaming of new quilts and petting fabric is so relaxing.
Our weather is turning colder too. Night frost for the next couple of nights. Yikes! I have to bring my last couple of plants in today.

Love the color of the leaves.
Don't you love fall?
So much inspiration for quilts.

We have been home one week and I am amazed at how much more fall like it has become in that one week. We have some trees bare, some are orange/yellow and or red and some are still green as can be.

Your nature photo's are always so pretty. A soft autumn tinge of color. Maybe the deep reds will come later.

I agree with "Carol" ... it has been a weird spring and summer for us here in the west also. Spring was so late that we are now late October we are seeing doves and wild turkeys mating and the doves are sitting on it's nest. ? ? ?

It was 18 degrees at 8:30 this morning. It had to be cooler earlier in the morning.

Your leaves look so pretty. We seldom have any fall color here to speak of, but this year we have lots of trees dead from the drought - not the colors we want to see. And yes, petting fabric and dreaming of new projects is definitely a good thing!

I love Viburnums and have 4 different ones. Which is yours?
I think they are good value during all seasons.

Ha ha! I thought I was the only one who petted fabric (and yarn)! Good to know I'm not crazy. Or if I am, at least I'm not alone!
