Checkerboard progress......

I spent time trying to create some order in the basement.  I exchanged places for a 6' table and a 5' table that allows me easier access to some of my storage area.  I was itching to sew something though so I finally sewed the blocks together on this quilt.  I added the stripe and now I have to make sixteen 16 patch blocks for the 2 ends.
This is all I have left of the stripe fabric.  It is one of my favorites.  I searched for it on the Internet but only found it in purple, not red.  I don't really need any more of it.  I'm just sad to see it gone.
It will probably take me several weeks to give you a verdict on the ruler I showed yesterday.  So far I like it and can't see any negatives.  I save all of my dull blades (no reason, I just do) so I think I need to put one of them back in my cutter and see if it gets sharper using the ruler.

It looks fantastic! Yep, just checked my stock and I am out too! I will keep my eyes peeled, if I find a little bit, I would be glad to send it to you!

Love the stripe border. It is neat fabric. Now you have 100's of eyes looking for it!

Check with Grubers in St Cloud. I think they had that fabric a bit ago...in case you still need to have it for backup! :-)

I don't know why they have to stop making some of Kaffe Fassett Collective fabrics, most of them are timeless! Love the rich colours in this quilt!

Beautiful!! I will be interested to hear if the new ruler sharpens the older blades.

It looks wonderful. I once had a green fabric that I absolutely loved. It was very traumatic when I used the end of it too!!! ;(

It sure looks like you had to match a bunch of seams, but the quilt is lovely.

The checkerboard quilt looks great - don't forget to show it when it's complete! Curious about that ruler too, keep us informed.

I really like the striped border! It is a very nice stripe so I can understand why you would want more. I like the Kaffe dot you posted yesterday - what a good deal! I will be interested to hear if you like the ruler. I want a big square one for a quilt I have planned for this winter and if these really work it maybe worth the investment.

So rich looking! I love it. But then I've never seen anything you make that I didn't like. LOL

Order is good and necessary, but so is sewing.

I have a couple of the rulers and my only complaint is that on one the edge slid a little and now I have to watch that it doesn't knick me or my blade.

Your checkerboard quilt is looking really interesting. It is so different with all those little squares.

All that wonderful bright colour! Love it. Hope the ruler works for the blades.

I love this quilt...what a great stashbuster. Are you putting a row of blocks on each end?

What a great warm-looking quilt that is!
There's always that one special fabric that we hate to see the end of. And stripes are always so useful.
