Border choice.....

When I was at the quilt shop in Batavia, IL for the QOV sew-in on Tuesday I spotted another new Kaffe fabric.  I think it would make a great border on this first crosses quilt top that I made.
I ended up going alone with Dad to the Dr. yesterday and he got a prescription that we hope will help his jerky legs problem.  He had only one prescription that he takes daily up to this point.  That's pretty good for a guy that will be 98 next month.

Love the border with the quilt!

Parasols is just perfect for the border! Although, may I make one suggestion? I might slip in a black or much darker thin inner border just to frame it up, then add parasols. I would be curious to see that combo. You are right about your Dad, one medication is fantastic!

Hope the meds will help with your Dad's jerky legs problem. One medication certainly is good.
I absolutely love the border fabric! It's just perfect.

Hi Wanda,
Love that border fabric. I just bought a hunk of that fabric (I think in a lighter colorway, but I'll have to wait until it arrives to tell).
Your dad is amazing and lucky to require just one med up to this point!
Take care.

The circle fabric is really striking and perfect for the cross quilt. One medication? Seriously? That is wonderful! Jerky legs is NO FUN.

Cutting up my cross pieces today! Love that border fabric. Hugs for you and your Dad. :-)

That is a great border fabric choice. The colors are perfect and the circles provide a nice contrast to the angularity of the crosses pattern. I recently used a KF fabric on an asterisk quilt made from KF fabrics and it looks great, too.

Cool border fabric!
And amazing that your dad only takes 1 prescription--most, hell ALL the elders I know have prescriptions that look like they run a mini pharmacy!
Good for your Dad!

That's a lovely border choice! I agree with Jackie that a narrow border would really set it off. Your dad's health sounds amazing--he must be where you get all your energy to finish so many quilts from! :)

Your Dad is indeed doing very well to only be taking one medication at his age! Good for him. And I do SO like the border fabric you've chosen. Only you, Wanda, only you!

Perfection! I love the juxtaposition of the circle border with the cross blocks.

Oh, what a perfect choice for the border!!! The circles in the fabric are such a nice touch to the straight lines of the crosses -- and the colours are perfect!
Your dad is really lucky -- only one medication! Good for him!

I like what you showed us today for the border. A great compliment to the colors in your cross quilt top.

Your Dad soon to be 98 and only on 2 meds now. That is amazing.

Oh, love that new Kaffe fabric. It looks good with the crosses blocks. Wow, your dad only has one prescription at age 98? That is terrific.

Perfect border! I love that fabric.
At the last Expo I went to someone had all Kaffe fabric. I saw that and now I wish I had bought a hunk. I will have to order it.

Unbelievable that your Dad is now on only two medications. My Mom is on about 8 although some are just vitamins and low dose aspirin.
Hope this new one of your Dad's does the trick.

I love your style!

And you are so blessed to have your dad stay healthy for so long! I lost my dad 2 years ago at age 71. Blessings to you.

That is great for a 98 year old! I take more than that and I am only 54!

I think I would put a very thin frame-border between the crosses and the curves but I do love the fabric!

Yes that fabric goes lovely with your quilt top.
Your Dad is doing fine for his age. I wish I still had my Dad here.

One prescription. That's fantastic. My grandma lived to 105 taking only thyroid and calcium supplements. I hope I can follow in her steps.

I love that fabric for the border. It is a great complement and excellent contrast.
