Diamond play.......

There are 4 new diamonds up on the wall but I forgot to take a photo of them separately.  I cut several new ones and paired them with 1.5" strips.
I still have a lot of 1.5" strips left to choose from for new blocks.
I got another new die, this time from AccuCut instead of AccuQuilt.  The black piece is the size I have been cutting and will finish at 3.5" tall.  I wanted the huge one for large prints.  This is the bottom of the die board, not the cutting side.
The weird fabric I showed yesterday is made by Alexander Henry and I would estimate that I bought it between 1991 and 1995.  I have 31" by the full width for those who wondered how much I have of it.  One of my readers has it in another colorway.  I like the boldness of Alexander Henry prints.  They don't seem to follow any trends but just do their own thing.

I love those diamonds... just love them... I like that you let the prints star by using the large cuts... the exact way KF prints should be used!

That sure is one big triangle!

I got to tour the factory in Fremont where that die was made. The process is amazing. I am glad you showed the die. All of the AccuCut dies can be used with the AccuQuilt STUDIO cutter..but not with the GO!

Wanda, I love that wild fabric and wondered if it was an Alexander Henry. Alexander Henry has always been my favorite, not just for the prints, but also for the quality. Can't wait to see some projects that incorporate that big triangle. Bunny F

Beautiful triangles! Funny, I was just looking at AccuCut's web site yesterday but saw that their dies only work with the Studio. Can't wait to see what you do with it.

Love the diamonds....they are coming along nicely.

Haven't been on much since back to school, so trying to catch up this morning. I see you have been busy as always. Love the Alexander Henry prints. They are always amazing. Looking forward to watch what you do with your triangles...they are cut from some gorgeous fabrics. Great to use the same ones as the diamonds, make 2 quilts at the same time.

I am glad your dad is doing ok at the nursing home and happy to hear he will be able to go home soon.

Hi, I love your quilt. What size are the Diamonds? I do not have a diecut machine. I see your strips are 1.5" wide. Thanks for the inspiration

The Alexander Henry print is very unique and could be quilted to make a lovely art piece. I don't know if I would want to cut such a piece of art!!

Hi Wanda,
I had to go dig out my piece of Alexander Henry wild stuff and it's the yellow/red colorway. I only have one-half yard, and it was in my pile of fabrics I was going to do wonky butterflies with. I still think it would make great butterflies because every one of them would be different, even though from the same fabric.

p.s. your diamonds are looking great!

I really like it when AH will do completely off-the-wall, yet totally awesome, fabrics. I'm a relative newcomer to quilt fabrics (just the past few years) and I've had varying degrees of frustration at the level of sameness in the big fabric makers.

It took me making an Egyptian-flavored quilt for a friend recently to really see it -- I learned that no company had done any Egyptian-themed fabric in over a decade. A massive ebay hunt ensued.

Of course, shortly after I finished the quilt, the "Valley of the Kings" fabric set came out. She who had sourced used fat quarters from the UK and Australia ... banged her head against the wall. :)

You have a wonderful fabric stash, and you know how to use it.

Can you use AccuCut dies on Accuquilt? I would love to have that triangle die.
