Not a stitch all day........

I couldn't get  motivated yesterday to do anything so I'll share some photos I took last week.  I have a box of pieces and parts that maybe will be made into something, maybe not.  I had made a strata of 6 fabrics white to black and then made 2 different kinds of blocks from slices of it.
I think I can safely say that I made the strata and blocks more than 15 years ago so I think they have aged properly.  I decided to lay out both kinds of blocks together since there weren't enough of either to do much.  After I took this photo I sewed them together and it is about 18" x 30".  I think it might become the center of a baby quilt or small lap quilt.  I thought I would just play around with borders.  I hope it gets finished before another 15 years though.

All Good Things take time. Maybe today with the sun out and the temps lower you will get back on the saddle again. I see Zebra. Chris

Your black and white blocks are really neat--lots of possibilities! I find it interesting that you're cutting up jeans as I have a big stack of them saved up and haven't quit figured out what to do with them. Looking forward to seeing how you use yours.
best, nadia

A classmate and I were talking about our teacher's latest idea: a quilt-along making a pieced quilt 80" square! We laughed that our daughters might inherit them - to finish on our behalf!! I do hope to be around for fifteen years or more but the way the teacher was describing this quilt it may take that long!

The fabric colors are neat and so "in" right now. I like what you are doing with it and maybe......it has aged enough. I think we all have UFO's like that.

This is SO COOL!!! I really love how the middle strata formed zebra-looking stripes down the length of the whole piece.

First, I love the way your strata blocks turned out! The effect is very stricking. Second, I cannot tell you how happy I am to hear that I am not the only one who has days with no motivation.

Wonderful!
This heat has, I think, sapped the energy out of just about everyone.

It reminds me of bar codes. I love the color values that are seen.

You crack me up, Wanda, and I'm glad your strata have aged successfully! (And I really hope I don't have to wait 15 years to see them turn into something.)

Turn them into journals. I like the black and white.

Love your black and white fabrics! I would love to see them finished. It is cooler here today. Perhaps it is also cooler where you are and you will feel like sewing.

Looks interesting. I like playing with the leftovers. I spent last evening sewing leftover 1 1/2" strips from the hexagon tabletopper together. Not sure what I will do with them either, but there were too many to just put in the strings box.

There is so much movement in this little gem! My logical brain is challenged to find the pattern that isn't there. I think I'd call this "Alzheimer's Prevention".

It has aged to perfection!
I think it looks like spines...would be a good wallhanging for a back doctor/clinic!

I like the idea of using these as journal covers. I also like it when I see black and white borders incorporated into bright (batik?) quilts. The black and white really seems to make the bright colors pop.

Have been reading your blog for at least 2 years. Maybe more. I think this is the first "day off" you've had in that time!

Very nice strata! And black/white has certainly come back in popularity. Who knows - a splash of red might fit in nicely. :-)

Wow, black and white!! Where is the color? LOL I sure you will figure out something fantastic. I find that every once in awhile I need to take a few days away from the sewing machine. It is sometimes refreshing. Stay cool as it is going to heat up one more time.
