A little sashing trial........

In the book the sashing was dark/light/dark/light from one end to the other.  I decided to try mixing up values instead.  I will make one set like the book too and see if I like it better.

I pieced 12 strips 44" long together and then sliced of the 3.5" sections from it so that is why they are all alike.  There are 85 sashing sections so there will be a lot of variety.  And of course that is the number if I make it the same size as the book.

These are the 2 new blocks I made yesterday.

The sashings look great like this. Of course, they will probably look great the other way too. You can always mix it up a bit.

Hi Wanda,
Your blocks are looking great!
I looked back at the quilt in the book, and never realized how much is going on in that quilt! I hadn't noticed the little pinwheels used as cornerstones; do you think you may do those, too?
I'm liking this cooler weather!
