Fun time!

After a few busy days in a row I like a play day; a lot of 'just because' sewing.  I made some crooked cobblestones and strip piecing to be used for journal covers for the spiral notebooks.

Here are 3 more laying on top of the 2 new batiks I purchased on Tues.

What a neat pile they make!  Not neat as in neat and tidy, but neat as in colorful and wonderful.

I pulled out the pencil box full of squares made of 2 triangles and played with them on the design wall.  They are 2" finished squares so this is just a little piece.  I think I will sew it instead of putting them all back in the box.

Chippy was back again yesterday so I got a better photo of him.  The squirrels don't scare him.  He was there with 2 squirrels and about 4 sparrows.

I love those fun play days! Your cobblestones looks just beautiful! Can't wait to see what arrangement you will make with them. Isn't it amazing how much Chippy can fit in his cheeks all at once.

All of that lovely color combined looks very perky and spring-like. Thanks for sharing.

I like your 'for fun' sewing and your definition of neat. It fits. The cobblestone is still one of my favorite blocks, especially the little crooked ones. My Kaffe Fassett(plus) cobblestone is still on my design wall. I have 6 blocks left to put together.

Everything looks very warm and colorful. And this design wall idea (I've seen it around the blogs quite often) sounds like a great idea.

Wonderful post of color today Wanda. We are so ready for spring to burst, no matter where we live. And your blog is my spring !

Weather reports tell us it is going to be a cool wet spring... Just what we wanted to hear. NOT !

Ohh, nothing like batiks playing well together to lift the spirits! Those blocks are great; seeing batiks used so nicely makes me want to dive into the batik shelf and shelve the project I was working on yesterday! Maybe today is a universal play day holiday??

NEAT - oh, yes ... wonderfully "neat" and a feast for the eyes.

We called our chipmunks "chippy" where I grew up in MI ...

I think your pile is neat, too. I bet it brought joy to everyone who saw it today.

I have a question - what do you do with the spiral notebook covers that you make? Do you gift them? Sell them? (where? and how much?)
Inquiring minds want to know. :-)
