A few seams sewn.......

I had partial quilts on almost every design wall in the basement.  I didn't feel like sewing diamonds yesterday so I started sewing the log cabin top together.  We had severe thunderstorm warnings last night so I had to quit and unplug the machine.  Tomorrow is our Quilts of Valor sew in at the quilt shop in Batavia, IL so I was going through all of the pieces that were sewn at the last meeting to prepare kits for tomorrow.
A friend dropped off a QOV quilt which she is donating on Saturday.  She had a surprise for me too, a begonia she started from her plant.  I love all of my plants and this one is especially pretty with its colorful leaves.

Don't you just love having so many design walls? I only have one and love having projects on it. Last night I put up a new project and am enjoying it very much. Have fun at your QOV meeting. This begonia will be a pretty one.

That is a gorgeous begonia leaf! I too always have several quilts in various stages to suit the mood.

Wanda, congratulations on all you accomplished last month! I agree with Jackie, it's great having more than one design wall... mine is behind my cutting table, I have to shove stuff on there from the side and leaning over the table... bummer.

Beautiful fabrics you're working with!

I wish I had room for design walls on every wall, instead right now I have a baby quilt pinned to a wall hanging so I can look at it and get ideas!!

You sound like me with so many different projects going on at the same time. Despite how tired I was this weekend I did make some progress on a couple of pieces. My design walls are alway full too. I am not sure it would be better to have more or not.

My heart goes out to you with all of your donating of your TIME, TALENT. FABRICS, and for anything that comes your way. You have a very soft heart for those in need. QOV, Preemie blankets and lil tops, Battered Women's Shelter, etc. etc.

Not to mention all those classes you give. I do not know how you do it all plus sharing a daily post with us.

That huge begonia leaf looks like something straight off some of the gorgeous huge floral fabrics by Westminster designers--maybe Philip Jacobs? or B. Mably?
You just keep giving and giving with your talents and time, Wanda. You're one of a kind.

I am trying to make a space for a design wall. Right now I have a piece of flannel laying over a few things in the sewing room. It works for now but hope I get the design wall soon.

Hmmmmm. Have you ever thought that if you had a treadle to sew on, you wouldn't have to worry about storms and potential power surges? We're part of an electric cooperative that was frequently losing power--which is why I started looking for a treadle. Of course, now that I have a couple of treadles, the co-op seldom loses power--but I still prefer to do almost all my sewing and quilting on the treadle.
