A few more blocks

I made 14 more blocks and mixed them into the existing ones.  I have more to make but didn't get much sewing done yesterday.  My granddaughter came for the mattress and box springs that have been stored in my garage and the garage sale lady who bought my neighbor's dining room table came to pick that up.  I pulled a few weeds until the mosquitoes started in on me.  I think I need to try one of those fans that has mosquito repellent in it.  I don't like the feel of the goop on my skin.

I have been doing a lot of reading lately.  I finished "Three Cups of Tea" last week.  I highly recommend that book for everyone.  Then I started the 4th book in the series by Kathy Reichs.  She is the author that inspired the "Bones" show on TV.  The show doesn't follow the books but is just similar I guess.  I have never seen the show but maybe I'll watch the old shows after I finish the series of books.  It is hard to put these books down so I should go through the whole series rather quickly.

Your blocks are coming together nicely.

You have had a busy day. Nice to see your granddaughter.

I just can't get into reading, too busy doing other things.

the show is nothing like the books I will tell you that! let me know what you think. I watched the show once or twice but after reading the books I couldn't watch the show - just didn't seem right because it was so different than the books.
The quilt blocks are great.

I love "Bones" and I also love Kathy Reichs books. The latest one is great, you'll love it. I have to view the show in an entirely different way than I do the books. That way I don't get disappointed!

There is a new mosquito repellant--it's a disc that you hook to your belt! Maybe that'll work for you. Love your quilts.

Loving the colors! What a fun, easy design...with lots of impact! Oh, isn't it wonderful to find an author you adore...until you finish the last book in a series and feel you've just lost a friend! Then off to a new book...

The "OFF" fan works ! I just got thro watering flowers and hosing down the house, wearing my fan. Mosquitos didn't come near me, and you know how they love water! I have been bitten so badly in the hair and on the arms, that I thought this might be the answer. Go to Home Depot as they have it cheaper (6.88) than anyone else. It is an $8 (walmart, walgreens)investment then you have to buy refills after 12 hours of use.

As for Bones, loving the books, also really like the series. Two totaly different takes on the same
person. Just have to remember it is fiction either way.

I live my sewing through you any more. There are so many chores to keep up with in the summer. So watching your daily progress I feel like I'm 'kinda' sewing along with you, too. ☺

Will have to check out that "OFF" fan. Never had heard of it.

p.s. These Montana mosquitos are even bigger than the midwest ones ! ☺

I'm surprised to hear those OFF fans are working. We bought a couple 2 years ago when they first came out and they didn't work at all for us. I hope they work for you - maybe they changed something?

Have you tried any of those sort of citrus csandles? I know my cousin uses those for her patio in the summer.
I love how those blocks are coming together -- fabulous!
