Almost there.............

Two more blocks is all I need for a 42" x 48" quilt.  That is a good size for class samples.  The classrooms simply aren't big enough to open up bed size quilts and have the students stand back far enough to see the whole quilt.  I have made this all out of my scrapbag of Kaffe fabrics.

Yesterday was our last nice day for awhile.  Humidity and rain are predicted for several days in a row.  I lucked out with the grass though. Without rain all week it didn't grow so I won't have to mow until at least the middle of next week.  I baked cookies since it would be the last day without the air conditioning.

Today is my 3rd Blogiversary.  On the 4th of July, 2007 I ventured into the world of blogging and it has enriched my life.  I always kept diaries as a child, and now this is a diary of sorts that I have been writing with a bunch of people reading over my shoulder.  I have enjoyed the interaction with a lot of the commenters as we email back and forth and discuss our quiltmaking and life in general.  Thank you, all of you, for reading my blog.

Hi Wanda, Congratulations on the blogiversary. Blogging has made a big difference in my life too. Not that this would work for everyone, but I gave up antidepressants and started writing (well, sewing and taking pictures mostly), and I have never looked back and never wrote another check to a head doctor. I am convinced once a woman becomes too distanced from creating, she loses her true self and that causes great distress. Karmen

Congratulations Wanda - I have to say that I thoroughly enjoy logging on each day and peeking into your world :) You're so right these blogs chronicle a part of our lives that we are passionate about and that express our creativity and convey our thoughts about our projects as we go about completing them. Thank you!

3 years, my, how the time has flown . What is morning coffee without reading Exuberant color ? I will miss reading your blog for the next 2 weeks.
Unless, my brother has cable. He lives in the mountains of WV and cable is not an option. So I will have plenty of catching up to do.
Maybe he will let me use his pc.

Looking forward to another scrap class.

Happy 3rd year! I, too, read your blog first on my reader list so it's always a little disconcerting not to see you there right away in the morning.

I came online on a holiday also in '97. It was April 1st. Just think about that for a minute. *L*

You've been help to me in a lot of quilting ways and I appreciate it. Here's to another 100 years!

Happy Blogiversary! I'm relatively new to your blog, but enjoy it very much. By the way, I made a baby quilt last year with 2x4" rectangles - wish I had thought to use strips as you did. But now I want to make another, YOUR way!
As others have mentioned, your exanple is making me more adventurouse with color too!

What a fantastic scrap bag of Kaffe fabrics ! It does NOT look like a quilt made from scraps at all. Love it.

And thank you for giving of yourself with this blog. I have enjoyed keeping up with you.

We're going into an extended very very hot week. They're saying with the humidex built in we'll have temps of 110+.
