What a fun day!

The art quilters came and we inspired each other again. Then in the evening I went as a guest to our local quilt guild meeting because an old friend and her partner (Blue Underground Studios) were the program. I love the combinations of fabrics that they put together for their quilts, lots of Kaffe and batiks and black and whites. To unwind after all of that inspiration I sewed this strip set together while I watched CSI Miami. I am going to slice it and insert strips and flip some sections and make it into another journal cover.

isn't Kaffe's sense of color and design amazing? I hold onto his stuff for far longer than I should! You inspire me to pull out the fabric and get busy!

Love your strip set! My guild had someone from Blue Underground be our program a year or so ago, but alas I had to be out of town and I missed it. :( They do have neat stuff.

I am always impressed with your designing placement with all of your fabric strips and blocks. And these strips posted today, is another example of great design.

I heard about your guild meeting from someone else -- love the Blue Underground designs! I bought one of their patterns recently. The orange persimmon fabric in your strip set is one of my all-time favorites.

Love the combo too! Blue Underground has some really neat patterns and know how to use fabrics for sure.

Hi Wanda,
Your strip combo is outstanding.
I have seen the Blue Underground's patterns before (maybe at a quilt show?) and the patterns seem to lend themselves to dramatic fabric choices.

I've loved the dramatic quilts/patterns from Blue Underground Studios since I saw my first one a couple years ago. Their style is similar to yours, don't you think? Bold, beautiful, creative, and unique.
Love the strip set.
