HAPPY EASTER

This is the cobblestone quilt project I have been working with a self imposed deadline of Easter. While I was making it two hymns repeated themselves over and over in my head, "Low in the Grave He Lay (He Arose!)" and "The Old Rugged Cross". I had a vision of what it should look like and it didn't come out like I expected. I might have to make a second one to more true to the vision. I had some technical problems with this after I got it sewn together so I will be doing some un-sewing this week. Even though every vertical row seemed to be straight while it was on the design wall, it is curving to the left which means the right side is longer. I may be able to correct it by taking off one or two rows and straightening them.

For a change we are going to have a fairly warm day on Easter even though it started out below freezing. I got some of the leaves raked off the flower beds yesterday and was happy to see some of the early perennials peeking out.

What a gift. I'm home sick, unable to attend church this Easter. I sat down to my computer and was given this wonderful reminder of the the gift God gave me. Thank you. Happy redemption and renewal of life.

Beautiful! The cobblestones seem to reference stained glass (intentional or not). Do you have a regular church to donate this to? It would be a fantastic gift!

WOW I love it. Now hey if you decide you don't want to frog ... I'd be thrilled to take it off your hands. You could start over if you wanted.

Us too ... for once it's not raining or snowing. It's on the cool side but the SUN is out.

Stunning! And it looks 3-D too. If you make a 2nd version it will be interesting to compare the 2, sometimes as the artist you do have a much different image in mind than what turns out, but obviously your audience loves this piece!! Cheers! Evelyn

Glad you're having some warmer days and a very Happy Easter to you. Your Cross quilt is full of life with the beautiful colors a reminder of new life in Jesus. Here's a link to a quilt shop here in Texas who only handle batiks --
http://www.batiksgalore.com/ that you might enjoy. I've been telling my group about her retreat center.

Your quilt is absolutely beautiful, Wanda. Glad you had some nice weather for Easter. I was sunny and not too cold today, but windy again.

What a beautiful quilt!!! You did a great job and it doesn't look crooked at all. Some times we look to close at our own work step back and look at it from another view. I also love the on point setting on the lady of the Lake Quilt.

Do you object to my making a quilt for our sanctuary like your quilt? I do not want to put any names (designer or quilter) on the quilt, just celebrate The Lord Jesus in His Glory. My family and I attend church in a brand-new building with lots of wall space.

Don't let the deceiver rob you of the joy you get from the meaning of this quilt. You used your talents for the Glory of the Lord.

This is so beautiful. I would love to make one like this as a banner for our church, but I just can't seem to "think outside the box", which is what a quilt design like this requires. I'd love to learn more about how you did this.
