Now if I could just find the book

While going through things yesterday I found this partially completed wallhanging from the Gayle Bong book "Thirtysomething". I know the template that I need to trim the pieces is tucked into the book but I can't find the book. I think today will be an organization day. I will group my books by publisher in alphabetic order. Ha! That may take all day. I have decided to go ahead and sew the border that I had planned onto the black and white pinwheel quilt and then consider some embellishment for the quilt, maybe color, maybe not.

Today we are going to have above freezing temperatures for the first day in 18 days. We are having the 10th coldest winter on record in the Chicago area. It will seem strange to not dress in so many layers when warmer weather comes back.

Don't you just hate it when you know you have what you need and can't find it? Good luck with your organization efforts. I hope you find the tool. I love the quilt in the batiks, it really is pretty. Good to hear it isn't as cold today. It is cold and windy here though.

Nice quilt. If you are from the Chicago area than you know the weather. The other day while listening to the news, Obama was on ,talking about how his daughters school was closed due to a little ice. Then he said in Chicago there was no such thing as a snow day and schools weren't closed for inclement weather. Here in Windsor, schools aren't closed even if the school buses aren't running. It's always business as usual.

First I thought will this blue be working with the rest of the colours? But if I sqint, it does. I see the stars in front of a deep blue sky, and it looks quite spaced.

How aggravating! Perhaps it is time for a clean-up.

I am always losing books because I pull them out to use them or read them, and then ...
I just drove home and saw zillions of people outside walking and a few even running. It is SO glorious to have above-freezing weather.

When I made the same pinwheel quilt, I designed a spiral embroidery and made it large in the quilt body and smaller as accents in the border. My quilt is quilted but not bound. Glad to see that you are working your way through your UFOs. -Connie in AL

The color of the blocks on todays post are just beautiful. Every day it is a visual treat to visit your blog.

re: black and white pinwheel.. Love your statement and agree with you; "then consider some embellishment for the quilt, MAYBE COLOR, MAYBE NOT".

Wanda, Your color choices on this one are stunning.
I have never heard of the book you used; sounds interesting.
Hope your organizational efforts are going well.

I'm lucky to have all of my books ON the bookshelf (I carry them off with me to read or look through and they end up downstairs or in the car)...

Cannot imagine having the stash of UFOs to play with that you're sharing... so different from each other, each one gorgeous.

Glad you had a 32+ day ~ we had sunshine all day. Fabulous!

I need to have an organization day too -- my books are scattered about. It's really frustratng when one is looking for something!
That UFO is going to be fabulous when finished.

I can't stand it when I can't find something. I will give up looking then later think of a new place to search and then start looking again!
Good luck, this will be a pretty one.

I listed all my patterns and books alphabetically on WORD in my computer and I update it periodically. IF I remember when going to a quilt show, I take the list with me so I don't buy a duplicate book. Anyone besides me ever done that??? LOL
